Science
 Throughout
the science program, the predominant emphasis is on fostering delight
and wonder as students learn about the fascinating mysteries of
the natural world. In the pre-kindergarten and kindergarten classes,
topics for study are often spontaneously adopted in response to
the children's immediate interests. From kindergarten through eighth
grade, the program covers a broad spectrum, with a balance among
the life, earth, and physical sciences. Colorful trade books, activity
logs, and hands-on experiments carried on in cooperative groups
help students to understand the key concepts of science and to connect
what they are learning to other areas of study.
