Haddonfield Friends School (HFS), Haddonfield, New Jersey, seeks a new Head of School.

Founded in 1786, HFS is known for its Quaker values, educational achievements, dedicated teaching staff, nurturing environment that respects the whole child, extraordinary family-teacher relationships and an unusually strong sense of community.

The school has just over 150 students in Pre-K through grade 8.
Qualifications:
  • Excellent communications skills, both oral and written
  • Experience supervising and evaluating faculty and staff
  • Experience hiring and developing excellent faculty and staff
  • Comfort with and success in fundraising
  • Experience reviewing financial records and making budgetary decisions
  • Leadership in curriculum development and instruction
  • Experience helping set strategic direction and achieving long-term goals
  • Advanced degree preferred
Characteristics:
  • A commitment to and knowledge of Quaker education, processes, and values
  • A builder of warm relationships and an active and enthusiastic community participant
  • Experience and interest in team building and consensus finding
  • Ability to manage change in a school community

The Search Committee will review applications as they are received. Interviews will begin this summer. Appointments to visit HFS will be scheduled for fall, 2006, and duties will commence July 1, 2007.
